Shortly after the Firelands Crisis of 1940 ended with the creation of the Plasma Familiar Empire. A Child Psychologist under the name Kanner Leo(Switched the first and last name of person who first discovered Autism in our world.) discovered a condition called Autism in the newly created nation. Over the decades have passed many theories that tried to explain what causes autism and how to "normalize" them into society. For most of the history of the known existence of Autism people with it have been a small minority. But recently with the advent of the Autism Spectrum becoming common place. More and more people are being placed on the spectrum. Nations that haven't had to dealt with on how to educate children from the low functioning to high functioning. Are swamped and are dealing with increased pressure from not just Autism community but also from other civil rights groups for the disabled. ((The idea of this roleplay is to show on how your nation is dealing with this unforeseen problem. Keep this as friendly as possible due to that fact ,me included, are on this spectrum. But feel free to pursue what your government would do.) |

The Euthrasian government has had problems with Autism in the past and present. However, recent studies show that autism rates are indeed dropping rather than increasing in the Grand Socialist Republic of Euthrasia. This is partly due to the new cloning research being conducted in our nation, in which government officials screen unborn fetuses and use the cloning technology to eliminate serious mental and physical conditions. Autism, apparently, is included in this list. In fact, it has been predicted that autism will completely disappear in newborn babies born in Euthrasia by the year 2045. Of course, that still leaves the problem with existing autistic Euthrasians. As children, autistic people are directed through a series of intensive education programs that are specifically designed by a medical expert for each individual child. As all Euthrasian children are schooled online rather than with public schooling, the child will not have to worry about being picked on or disliked by their peers like in other nations. This does, however bring up the issue of a lack of social interaction for autistic members of society. So, children diagnosed with autism and children classified as mentally "normal" are both integrated into a "social day" on a specific day of the week. Because the social construct of Euthrasia is very much built upon equality and freedom for everyone, other children do not regularly single out autistic children as 'weird' or 'retarded' as other children in specific countries would ((COUGH COUGH USA COUGH COUGH)). So nowadays, Euthrasia's problem with autism is significantly reduced from what it was before the People's Congress of Socialism was formed. |
